Bugs Bunny Opera

This video perfectly demonstrates how a FERMATA affects music. Watch how Bugs holds his hand up for a very long time signaling the singer to keep singing. This is how a fermata works. You keep holding a note or chord on the piano until the conductor moves you on or until appropriate depending on the song.
